Email verification runs through five checks: syntax validation (RFC 5322), MX record DNS lookup via Google DNS API, disposable email detection (97,000+ known providers), role account detection, and a live SMTP mailbox check. Combined, these give a direct result — Valid, Invalid, Do-Not-Mail, Catch-All, or Unknown — not a vague percentage score.
A disposable email is a short-lived, throwaway address used for one-time signups (e.g. Mailinator, Guerrilla Mail, Temp-Mail). They degrade list quality and hurt deliverability. Mail Bounce Pro detects and flags 97,000+ such providers.
MX (Mail Exchange) records are DNS entries that tell mail servers where to deliver email for a domain. If a domain has no MX records, it cannot receive email. We check these live using Google's DNS API (dns.google) so results are always current.
Privacy is a priority. Email addresses you check one at a time are not stored permanently or sold. If you run a bulk upload while signed in, we keep that upload's results in your account so you can download them again: for 24 hours on the Free plan and 15 days on paid plans, then they are deleted automatically. Only you can see your uploads, and you can delete any upload yourself at any time. Results may be cached briefly to improve performance, and your data is always handled according to our Privacy Policy.
